How to play Cluerious
- Read the first three clues. They all point to one answer.
- Type your best guess. Capitalization, extra spaces, accents and ordinary punctuation are ignored. Reviewed common spellings and certain singular/plural forms are accepted; unrelated near-matches are not.
- Each new incorrect guess reveals one more clue until all six are visible. You still have six guesses in total.
- Want a nudge? Choose Reveal another clue. It does not spend a guess, but the extra reveal is counted in your result.
- A correct answer wins. Six incorrect guesses end the game and reveal the answer and explanation.
Empty or duplicate normalized guesses do not use a guess or reveal a clue. Example: carrot nose, coal eyes and snowy yard could point to snowman.
Timing
The visible timer begins when you first type, make a valid guess or voluntarily reveal a clue. It includes time in other tabs, browser restarts and time away. It stops at completion. It is casual browser timing, not an independently verified competitive score. There is no time limit.
Daily means daily
New puzzles begin at 00:00 UTC worldwide. Unfinished progress resumes in the same browser. After completion, there is no replay, practice or past-puzzle access. Without accounts, clearing browser data or using another device can bypass the browser restriction.
Sharing without spoilers
Copy or share your puzzle date, guesses, visible clues, optional reveals, time and a colored pattern. Save a branded result image if you prefer. The answer and clue text are never included. Old shared links open the current day, not an archive.
Statistics
Your browser saves played games, wins, win percentage, current and best streaks, and winning guess distribution. A loss or a missed UTC day ends a streak. Playing on different devices does not merge statistics. Browser data clearing removes local statistics.
